(Sl)Easy Cruise?
Hi Everyone,
I retrieved this whatever from wherever and thought it would be of interest. If you have missed any of my news postings, they are available on http://makeashorterlink.com/?R300125F7 Sorry, I have no spamadvertising to offer, no fake pretenses either. Best regards, Chrissy CHRISSY CRUISER NON TRAVEL 36-28-32 Size C Cups http://www.havenowebsite.com EasyCruise is on the concrete road to reality. The line took delivery of their first vessel, the 1990-built Neptune 2 (the former Renaissance 2, not to be confused with R2), last Thursday. The ship has departed for Singapore where it will be refit to easyCruise specs which call for it carrying 180 passengers in cabins of approximately 96 square feet. The British budget operator has contracted with V.Ships to provide marine planning, technical management and deck and engine crews. It's a cost-efficient way of operating a cruise line, by more or less, just renting all the people and services, especially if you have no expertise in operating a ship. V.Ships provides similar services for some 650 vessels worldwide. Beginning next spring, EasyCruise plans to offer cruises in the western Mediterranean with rates at about $350 per week. EasyCruise will be an a la carte operation with nothing included in the basic price besides the cabin. All services, including meals and maid service, will be charged extra. The line plans to be in the Caribbean by its second or third winter. The easyGroup is something of a force to be reckoned with. They are the parent of Britain's easyJet, a low- cost airline that last month carried almost two million passengers, as well as a slew of fledgling businesses carrying the easy name and subscribing to the a la carte pricing theory. Is easyCruise for you? Probably not, if you are already enjoying current cruise products, but their concept could benefit you in the mid-term. If the cruise line's business model calls for profits with loads any below the 180 passenger capacity (which it probably does) it shouldn't have problems filling at least one ship, because there are lots of people who vacation where every dollar counts (such as those who book budget hotels in resort areas). Where easyCruise may run into trouble - and were you could benefit - is if they start to look like any threat to major lines. The established players, who have said in the past that they can make money even with rates as low as $399 when necessary, could well take the approach major airlines take when a low-cost carrier tries to challenge them directly. Those lines could offer a limited number of cabins on a guarantee basis at a rate near the easyCruise price with advertising saying, "Look at how much more you get when you cruise with us." Even the budget-conscious traveler would have to realize the value there, drying up easyCruise's prime source of business.
