Melbourne -> Buenos Aires -> Cape Town
What is the best way to travel from Australia to South America to South Africa? Is it possible to travel by boat? What airlines do the trip and which are the cheapest? Is it possible to fly direct from Melbourne to Buenos Aires and from there to Cape Town? Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo! Movies. http://au.movies.yahoo.com |

The reverse order seems easier: (not too much from Austrilia to Argentina)
Austrailia - South Africa - Argentina 1. Either direct Australia - Johannesburg - Cape Town on Quantas or South African Airways or 2. Via Far East using Cathay Pacific or Air Malaysia for example Then 3. Cape Town - Buneos Aires direct via Air Malaysia Air Malaysia might be worth checking out as it does quite a few of the legs. I believe there are flights from Sydney and Aukland to Buenos Aires or
Santiago (with connections to BA). Depending on your reasons for travelling and budget consider flying to Tahiti and then picking up the twice weekly Lan Chile flight from there to Santiago. It stops in Easter Island which I consider to be one of the most fasinating places on earth. Just get off the plane you arrive on and pick up the next one a few days later. Airlines to talk to for this part of the journey therefore Lan Chile, Qantas, Air New Zealand and Aerolineas Argentinas. Across the South Atlantic you are even more limited. Malasyian has been mentioned. Also contact Varig and South African. You may need to travel via Sao Paulo or Rio. Better still contact a travel agency. In the UK I'd reccommend Trailfinders or Flight Centre. Don't know Australian agencies. "North Shore" wrote in message .com...
