Default Denali flightseeing tours?

Several questions for anyone who has been to Denali and taken a flightseeing
tour:

1. Is it worth $250 per person to fly over the top of Mt McKinley?

2. Holland America offers a tour called :fixed wing flightseeing - round the
mountain"
Has anyone taken this tour? was it worth it , did you like it?

3. Talkeetna Aero offers a tour called "Mt McKinley Summit Tour".
Same questions, any one taken it, how was it?

Thank you
John

Yes, but I suggest the Grand Tour with glacier landing for $265
from any of the air services in Talkeetna. We used K2.
Talkeetna is a great little town to stay in.

I have used K2 also......very good! We didn't do the landing but it was
awesome flying over the snowcapped mountains.
We were not able to see McKinley itself but all the mountains around
were clear as a bell. Inflight, we were offered a partial refund
because our tour was to include Mckinley. Most onboard declined and we
continued to explore other areas.

Stay in the Talkeetna Lodge. Magnificent lobby with floor to roof
fireplace. Spectacular views of McKinley. Very comfortable rooms and a
great restaurant.

Roger Fisher is the pilot of the over the top flight and he's the
ultimate pro. It is one of the most exciting trips I've ever taken.
It is definitely worth the money.

During the summer often the top of Denali can't be seen from the ground
due to the cloud cover he creates but more times than not the flight
over the top gets up over the clouds where the peaks of Denali are in
perfect view.

Enjoy your trip to ALASKA!

We just took the K2 Flight around McKinley on June 2. We were supposed to
land on Ruth Glacier, but it was clouded over, the group that landed there
was stuck for many hours because they could not take off. It would have
been nice to land, but since we had another landing scheduled on a glacier
for the next week we were not too disappointed when we learned we would not
be landing. After the flight we did not care at all that we didn't land,
the flight was spectacular. I would do it again if we go again, one of the
very best activities we did. McKinley came out a few times when we were
there.

We also stayed at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, a very nice place with the
best view in the area. McKinley "came out" once when we were there to see
it, and also was in full view when we went to one of the rest stops on the
way to Denali.
