Default France visa issue

We will be in Italy for 10 days then in France for 89 days. Do I need
a Visa, as of Schnaden visa, or whatever it is called, because they
are EU countries and part of the Schnaden agreement?

Normally you can stay 90 days every 6 month in the SCHENGEN AREA without a
visa.
that is, for tourist purposes
if you stay more than that, you should apply for a permission of residence
form the country where you are staying more than allowed.

In practice, no, if you have a US passport. You will never get checked.

Technically, yes.

As others have said you are supposed to have a visa but are not likely
to suffer from not having one. If for some reason you come to the
attention of the authorities you will be an illegal alien. FFM

No. After 90 days you do.
