Sandals Negril vs Couples Negril
We have been to Sandal resorts in Jamaica on 3 occasions ( Negril, Ocho Rios
and Royal). Now looking to try a different resort for a change. How do the 2 compare--accommodations, food, service and entertainment. We are in our early 50's, looking for a laid back beach experience |

having been to both, we REALLY prfer the grand lido negril for that
area...and our new favorite is grand lido braco. i know a lot of people say NO to all inclusives...we have done both ways and YOU have to decide what you want for YOUR vacation, we love the A.I., and we do leave the reorts...never felt any fear. always ask the guys at the gates or the bell guys...they know the best fun places, best off resort food, and the best drivers. I do not drink (but I do not mind being with people who do drink), so I find AI's to be a little pricey. I am sure they have other good qualities, other than an open bar. You can go a cruise, have delicious food, pretty good night time entertainment, and enjoy the beaches on 3-4 different islands in the Caribbean for around $700 per person. I can not seem to find an AI that is priced so reasonably. Becca |

It has been a while since we were at Sandals Negril, but it was excellent.
However when we were there I would say the crowd seemed to be young, and lots of honeymooners. We tended to stay at one end of the beach where it was quiet and away from the activites. I would say the service was better than Couples, but the food was comparable. Our room was great. We also have been to Grand Lido Braco which definitely had an older crowd. They have a whole "nude" section if that is your thing, complete with pool, bar etc. Our room was on the other side but we hung out on the nude beach. Food, service, everything was great.
