What happened finally Did they decide that NZ law was applicable in the
end? I followed it but lost the thread at some point.

Same here. I think they were found guilty, but I don't know

What I heard was that the six defendants, half the islands male
population, were found guilty last spring. Sentences are on hold until
the cases can be reviewed by the British Privy Council next year.

Right, this is the last piece of news and is in line with what Andrew
posted.

"Today the six accused lost their case but their sentences were once
again deferred pending the outcome of an appeal to the Privy Council
which is expected to hear the case early next year. "

They built one. Yes, the same guys that are likely to get locked up in it.
