Default Airlines in South East Asia

Trying to decide which legs to fly and which to attempt overland on a 3.5
month trip to Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and probably a short time in Southern
Vietnam. Are there any airlines which are notably safer and more reliable
than others? I know about Myanmar but how about Laos and Cambodia? Which
airlines would you fly and which would you give a wide berth. I am a nervous
flyer at the best of times. Thank you for any help. Sue

Bangkok Airways is perfectly fine. I know they fly to Laos, Cambodia,
and Vietnam, and I think they have a Bangkok-Yangon route.

Lao Aviation is one of the worst airlines in the world.

In article , Iceman
says...

The Leningrad cowboys claim to be the worst rock band in the world. But
I flew from Luang Prabang to BKK in April 2000 and the airline was ok.

Lao Aviation is certainly not the greatest airline to fly with. But
"worst in the world" is exaggerated . There are many airlines in third

Perhaps not much.

How many planes of Western airlines have crashed since 2000?

The U.S. Embassy advises its employees to use the airline only if
essential

The US has a lot of nonsensical "advisories" about the dangers in
foreign countries. This would be the least reliable source to cite ;-)

Lao Aviation is certainly not the greatest airline to fly with. But
"worst in the world" is exaggerated . There are many airlines in third
world countries which are not better. From Myanma Airways to Merpati
or Bouraq in Indonesia.

Bouraq is pretty good these days. Maybe you are referring to the time before
they had jets when their planes were indeed awful.
I found Lao basic but OK, but a couple of flights is not enough to judge I
suppose.
