Hi,
We are going to Portland for one week and was wondering if anyone could
suggest places to dine. Cafe, deli's, or any unique casual spots.

thanks,
Dwayne

Portland, OR? What part(s) of town? What do you like to eat? It's a
foodie town, so even the street food is pretty good. Unique? Well, there's
always Voodoo Doughnuts... yes, they have a web page.

Otherwise, take a look here for some ideas:

If you're over by 82nd & Powell, or near Powell's in Beaverton, you might
consider Best Baguette, a Vietnamese/French sandwich shop that bakes their
own baguettes, makes their own gelato and pastries... yum. And inexpensive.
The Beaverton location just opened, but the 82nd & Powell (near a Carl's
JR) has a faithful following. Atmosphere, none. Food, very good.

Downtown, you might consider Huber's for a little history... in business
since 1879 http://www.hubers.com/

Assuming you mean Portland, Oregon......

It's far away from downtown, but probably the best Chinese restaurant
in town is Wong's King Seafood.

Portland, Oregon 97266

My wife and I were on our way home and wanted some dim sum on a Sunday
before leaving Portland. The wait for a table was maybe 45-60
minutes, so we just ordered takeout. It was fresh, hot, reasonably
priced, and about as good as any place you'd find in the San Francisco
Bay Area. We just ate in our car.
