Default rail passes

We are planning to travel from London to Paris by Eurostar, then with a
Eurail Pass, travel from Paris to Milan-Venice-Florence-Rome-Pescara and
back to Rome. Is the Eurail Pass the best way to go? Has anyone used a pass
for rail, any advice?

If that's all the travel you're using the pass for, no, it's not
the best way to go. Purchasing tickets as you go is better.

I have. I won't do it again, because I don't like to waste money.
