I got a "failure to yield" citation, I could get it expunged from
my record by attending traffic school, a common practice. Still
had to pay the ticket, but getting it expunged meant mo points on
my license and no extra premium on my insurance.

A cop tried that on me once. There was a car in the right hand lane who
was speeding. The car in the middle lane was passing him. I was in the
left lane passing them both. We crested a hill and a cop got out and
waved all three of us over. I kept going. I don't know if they got
speeding tickets, but I didn't. :-)
