Excursions at Costa Maya
Hello Steve,
I was in Costa Maya recently and while they are making great strides in becoming the "next" Cozumel, it shall be an uphill climb. Part of my party did the beach break which was well, lacking in beach but served the ultimate purpose of sun and sand. Be warned to wear shoes on the dock, it aged and will leave its many splinters in the most sensitive of feet. The other part of the party did the ATV adventure which was a bit more adventurous. They routed us through heavily guarded gates into an area being 'citified', through a mosquito ravaged trail for 45 minutes with a pitstop at literally at portapotty only to be deposited at a beach area that was in need of some work. If you are the type of person who is up for an adventure and is not interested in the pretty pictures you'll find in the glossy brochures....costa maya is for you. I personally loved it, but most of my party hated it. The guides are lovely and the virgin appeal of the landscape refreshing. Don't expect too awful much and you'll be pleasantly surprised. The shopping area at which all the tours converge and depart from is pitiful with the exception of the rug outlet...quite impressive if you know your persians....otherwise....have a drink and get back on the ship. Bon Voyage regards kris Steve Rockey wrote: Has anyone had a good experience with any of the "adventure" excursions at Costa Maya. Thanks for your help. Steve |
