Ask before you try to get on board, and dump them if you get resistance. I have carried fruit onboard many times, but that was "then". "Now", you are subject to suspicion. |

"Sancho Panza" wrote in message ... I need to take some seville oranges on a plane.....is there any reason for security to have a problem with this ? Didn't have any problem when I did this. They seemed a bit surprised that I asked. OTOH, if it was LHR I was asking at, I'm not sure that I'd have got the same answer tim |

The airlines do not care. -- Binyamin Dissen http://www.dissensoftware.com Should you use the mailblocks package and expect a response from me, you should preauthorize the dissensoftware.com domain. When I went to SA I was asked to bring back some "strange" food. Before I left, I asked a at customs what I was allowed to bring back, Fruit and Veg was the only food item allowed tim |

Especially fresh produce of any kind. I'm not sure it is still true, driving interstate in the U.S., but they used to maintain inspection checkpoints for all motor traffic entering California (and other states crucial to the nation's fresh fruit and vegetable supply). IIRC, the Mediterranean fruit fly was the targeted culprit, the last time I drove cross-country - but that was many years ago. |
