Somebody who can't afford a computer won't be able to afford to go on a cruise. The number of people who can afford a cruise, but have chosen not to own a computer is vanishingly small. However, there are plenty of anal twits like you who have nothing better to do than nitpick every single thing they see on usenet. I don't think it has anything to do with being able to afford a computer. I have two different elderly Aunts that refuse to get a computer but cruise all the time. While there is a smaller percentage today of people that don't own computers but do still travel, they are most likely the Seniors that don't want to mess with something "new" in their lives. -- Ray ======================= www.compressorstuff.com |

HP has a printer that does not require a PC. http://bit.ly/d8tMAL Or a computer without a printer. I know people who have computers but no printer. In a few years most people won't have a computer or a printer. Most people will have a smartphone or an iPad like tablet device. Only professionals will have computers. Documents don't need to be printed. They can be virtual, stored in the cloud, and viewed on a smartphone or an iPad like tablet device. -- Charles |

Probably in twenty years the only people with computers will be some of the future seniors who don't want to mess with anything new. The young people will be using thin clients connected to the cloud. -- Charles |

When asked for his ticket and a photo ID, the man in front of me produced his "ticket", it was on his cell phone. I can clearly see what you described happening, and very soon. Becca |

It isn't necessary to read usenet in order to go cruising. Lots of people cruise that neither read usenet nor have computers and printers. And it isn't just old people. My mother was 96 when she died and she had an active on-line life and had a printer and a fax in addition to several computers. My husband, who used to run a computer room with several mainframe and mini computers and was a printer repairman has only an old computer and printer and no on-line access. So if he wants something printed, from on-line, I have to do it for him. |
