Marco Polo
Any Brits on here?!!
Our first cruise in this ship comes up Saturday, Tilbury calling at St. Mary's, Scillies, St Peterport, Guernsey and Rouen, France. Any tips for this one? Any horror stories? Reviews seem mainly favourable. Can you take 2 litre bottles of water on board. I'm told they charge £2.20 for a 75cl bottle on board. Do the cabins have 13 amp sockets or 2 pin euro ones? TIA, Richard |

The thing I remember most was the hair dryers -- a box about 10"x6"x3", with about a 2.5" hose going out to the hand set. We thought, "This thing must be SOMETHING ELSE!" Well, when we turned it on, the air coming out was about as powerful as a poof! The hotel in Istanbul had similar machines. What a disappointment! |

Well, when we turned it on, the air coming out was about as powerful as a poof! The hotel in Istanbul had similar machines. What a disappointment! My wife agrees with the Hairdryer comment, though the air stream seems quite fast. The water was £2.20 a bottle and was a fancy brand "mineral water". We were able to take 2 x 2L bottles on no problems, and even bought another 2L from the Coop on St. Mary's. They're mean with the water, covering it up after meal times. Shame really as these and a few others are quite minor niggles. Overall it was a fantastic cruise. The posh Waldolf restaurant was out of this world - a credit to CMV. I'm writing a review, which I'll post on the relevant review sites soon. But 8 out of 10 for Marco Polo. (Bear in mind that only a personal cruise with no other passengers would get a 10 from me!!)
