Great Protest Outside Parliament - 5.00 pm Tuesday 11/11/2008

Dear All,

Geoff Hoon, the Transport Secretary (*), under pressure on Heathrow,
has called this instant debate for Tuesday. ( * Remember he was the
Minister of Defence during the illegal invasion if Iraq, and who
didn't give a damn about all the Brit. soldiers wounded and killed
over there).

Protest this Tuesday!

Tuesday 11th November, 5pm, opposite the House of Parliament, Central
London.

To coincide with the instant debate on Heathrow expansion.

We heard on Thursday that the Government has called a major debate on
Heathrow expansion in the House of Commons for this Tuesday – Tuesday
11th September.

It is not the decision about Heathrow expansion. That is expected in
December. This debate has been prompted by the fact that 50 Labour
MPs have signed an Early Day Motion opposing expansion at Heathrow.
It is an important debate.

I have sent the MPs briefing material, but the many MPs who are
sympathetic to us feel it be useful to have people outside the Houses
of Parliament as a visible sign that this is issue about which there
is a lot of public concern.

So, at around 5pm, a group of us – councillors, campaigners, concerned
individuals – will gather opposite the House of Commons. It would be
great if you could join us!

The event will be peaceful and lawful

I'll be there; to demonstrate against the chaos that is Heathrow and to
support expansion so that we can all travel like humans instead of animals.
