Default drumming circles and rituals

Does anybody know of good places to visit in SE Asia to take in and
participate in drumming circles?
Also, how about buying indigenous drums and shipping them back to
North America? Is this possible? Thanks!

Well if you're not going to get any responses, it might as well be
limited by even more specifics...

It's like when someone does as google search and doesn't get any results, so
they add more search words rather than taking some away, and wonder why that
doesn't help.

Maybe asking in soc.culture.thai. May or may not be helpful.

Oh bro! Write it off as something somebody can give you a road map to.
Bring a drum, sit down and bang it. When people stop ask them in thai
"Where are the drummers". They'll tell you. Keep asking.

I'd try rec.music.makers.percussion.hand-drum where I hang from time to
time, and the other ...percussion... boards. You could get lucky.

Buy by the phrase book anyway, ne?
