Default Indonesian visas

The local paper reads that starting in October arrivals in Bali may
stay for 30 days. The cost will be $30 or $45. It will no longer be
possible to make a "visa run" as no return will be allowed for two
weeks. By the way, this 30-day stay is technically not a visa.

It will still be possible to get a 60-day social or business visa via
embassies outside of Indonesia. You must have a sponsor in Indonesia.
These visas may be extended every thirty days up to 180 days at the
discretion of the government.

There is also a retirement visa leading to permanent residency but the
terms are so onerous -- you have to hand all your money over to an
Indonesian bank -- that I doubt many will ever be issued.
