Default Cruise deals? Savings?

What are some reputable companies that offer deep discounts on cruises?
I would like to sail out of Philly or Baltimore... not really
concerned about where I would be heading. Any suggestions would be
nice.

I did see the NCL -Crown and RC - Empress of the Seas and Grandeur of
the Seas sail out of these ports... any others?

If you are really trying to leave from Baltimore area the Bermuda
sailings this summer of the Grandeur are on sale at discounts of up to
57% off brochure thru the companies I mentioned earlier -- prior to
attack by Dillon --

I enjoyed the ship even with smaller cabins, because I new enough to
upgrade to the appropriate cabins. CABINS are small on any ship but
thanks to a major refurbishment in spring 2005, once-tired
accommodations now sport a new décor of deep gold and forest green.
Standard inside and oceanview cabins are smallish (140 and 154 square
feet, respectively), but functional with couches, safes, and hair
dryers. Balcony cabins and suites have refrigerators, teak or marble
entries, and light-filled balconies with smoked-glass partitions.
(Suites also have bathtubs.) That is why I choose to upgrade..or do a
guarantee.. Then there's the Royal Suite, which features a grand
piano and marble bathroom bigger than many cabins on other ships but a
little over for my taste! Cabins for guests with disabilities are few
especially for a newer (remodel date) ship. ADA compliance was not a
focus the ship's 14 wheelchair-accessible cabins feature wide doors,
roll-in bathrooms with grab bars, and convenient locations near the
midship elevators. Inside cabins actually offer better maneuverability
than oceanview ones, while those with balconies are equipped with
steep, but serviceable, ramps. Wheelchair-accessible public bathrooms
can be found near most major facilities, and a hydraulic pool lift
assists wheelchair-bound passengers into the main pool and adjacent hot
tub.
If you want insider info on the cabins from comments made by clientele
then you will find that cabins located right above the Schooner Bar and
South Pacific Lounge, some aft cabins on Deck 7 can be noisy when
there's a late-night party or piano sing-along going on. There are no
guest laundry facilities onboard, but washing, pressing, and
dry-cleaning are available (fees apply).
Some of the wheelchair-accessible cabins on Deck 7 also have fold-out
couches, making them a good choice for physically challenged guests
traveling with more than one companion. You don't want to miss the
South Pacific Lounge as The Quest, the ship's vaguely risqué
scavenger hunt, segues straight into the Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party.

You'll love Live plants, bubbling waters, and soft spa-like music turn
the Moorish-themed Solarium Pool into a relaxing retreat where stress
simply disappears, also each of the ship's three production shows is
unique, entertaining, and more professional than most at-sea
theatricals.

There is also a longer cruise Bermuda/Caribbean ending in of all places
New Orleans in the fall.

Hey, Mr. Travelexpert.....did you really enjoy the ship? So did a guy named
Ron Lovett because in his review he wrote:

HOLY MACKEREL! RON LOVETT wrote the exact same cruise review you did!

You must be identical twins separated at birth.... or you are a plagiarizing
phony.

Or... you are Ron Lovett posting incognito. Now why would he do that? Why
would he modify his own review to make it look like some anonymous troll
wrote it?

I know...... because "travelexpert" is a phony and the only thing he is good
at is cutting and pasting other people's work and trying to make it look
like his own.

Let's see... travelexpert says: " .....the ship's 14 wheelchair-accessible

What an amazing coincidence this is.

Busted.

Search www.cruisevalue.com for good prices, we booked three cruises through
them, they include travel insurance on selected cruises.

Just out of curiosity, who pays brochure? Those are totally mythical
rates. What you will find is that those sites can offer no better
deal than I can or George or Ray on RCI or Celebrity. Or did you not
know about RCCL's level playing field policy?

Default Cruise deals? Savings?

Well, Dillon, before I met my Cruise Travel Agent (I do all of the
other TA business myself, i.e., air, hotel, car, tours, etc because
years ago someone taught me how to and I worked at it for a few years
in the 70's) I went to an agency to book a cruise for one of my kids
and me to take and the TA got out the brochure and informed me that the
rates quoted plus 10% would be what I would be paying. (CRUISE ONLY) We
were 8 months out from the date of sailing and this guy wanted 50% down
to book, 25% in 45 days and the balance 70 days from original booking
date. Cancelation fee was 50% after one week.

So, this tells me that there are many people who go to their local
travel agent, because they are not computer savy and don't know any
better, and book with them, pay the brochure rate plus 10% and think
they got a deal.

BTW the cruise this guy was pushing was a "Group of about 100 people
that travel with his agency every year". (He is now out of business).

So, that's who pays the brochure rates.

If I recall correctly, several people in the group have had - I'll use the
term - "less than satisfactory experiences" with Cruise Value Center. Be
careful with them, and with recommending them.

We used their New Jersey office about 10+ years ago for one cruise, and the
person we dealt with had NO CLUE. She was a real estate agent, who was
suddenly working as a travel agent. Fortunately I knew what we wanted and
just used them as someone to print our tickets.

That was the first and last time we used them.

I also remember reading that they charge a cancellation fee.
