QM2 Vs. RCCL
Last night on NBC Nightly News they had a brief (too brief for my
liking) report about the QM2. At the end of the report they said that as of right now the QM2 is the largest ship afloat but that in 2 years RCCL will be coming out with an even larger one. Does anyone know how much larger and will it be a Voyager Class Ship? Is the ship under construction now? I really liked the looks of that two story suite but at $50K + the TV is as close as I'll ever come to it. |

QM2 Vs. RCCL
Last night on NBC Nightly News they had a brief (too brief for my
liking) report about the QM2. I saw that too, and I have to say, that this being the first time I had a glimpse of this ship, I thought it looked like one of the ugliest tubs afloat. I'm sure the inside is much nicer than the outside (and yes, that 2 story suite looked DIVINE), but who on earth designed that thing??? UGH! |

Ugly? Yikes. Maybe to someone who loves the nice neon gaudiness of a
Carnival ship....... When cruising, who looks at the outside of the boat anyway? If they get the service right, Crystal should be very concerned.... Bhilly "Lunyma" wrote in message ... QM2 Vs. RCCL
"Ray Goldenberg" wrote in message ... At 100 percent occupancy, it will carry 3,600 guests and 1,400 crew. I posted the press release here on r.t.cruises. If you have missed any of my news' postings, they are available on my web site. OK, this is where I get confused. Is 100% capacity the most it can hold with all beds filled, or is 100% all doubles filled, and extra kids in quad rooms and such brings it up to 110% or so?? Chris |

I admitt I look at the outside. Guilty of Judging a book by its cover I
guess. The little bit that I saw of the inside kind of reminded me of Princess. I would have no problem sailing her. I am actually considering the Maiden Voyage on the Ultra Voyager in 2006. Have never done one and think it would be a true experience of a lifetime. |

100% capacity is, as I understand it, always double occupancy. fishman wrote: "Ray Goldenberg" wrote in message ... At 100 percent occupancy, it will carry 3,600 guests and 1,400 crew. QM2 Vs. RCCL
CupCaked wrote: The RCI ship will weigh in at 160, 000 gross tons. Gross tonnage has nothing to do with weight. It is a measure of volume of the enclosed spaces of the ship's hull and superstructure, where 100 cubic feet equals one ton. |

UltraVoyager will weight 160,000 gross tons & about 15% bgger than
QM2. This according to ET. (RICK DAVIS) wrote in message ... Last night on NBC Nightly News they had a brief (too brief for my liking) report about the QM2. Hi Everyone, As a clarification, the Ultra-Voyager will be approximately 15% larger than the current Eagle class (Voyager) ships NOT 15% larger than the QM2.
