Tom, we loved everything about the Solstice, except maybe the storage in
the cabins and that wasn't all that bad.

The ship was gorgeous and the service was very, very good. Breakfast and
lunch in the Lido Buffet was very good and varied, somehting for
everyone. Food in the dining room at night was also very good. The Lido
had an excellent selection of sugar free desserts that Kevin could eat.
The regular dessert selection was also very good and ice cream, soft or
hard, was available all day, not sure how late they were open.

When the buffet was closed they still had the pasta bar and pizza
available. Then there was the Mast Grill up near the pools.

What stabilizar problem? I know I read bad reports, but IMO the ship
handled the seas very well and we did have some bad weather at the
beginning of the cruise.

We will try to put together a short review when time allows.

I sure second your comments about the Lido buffet. We liked everything
about the Solstice, including the food. Elevators were always
convenient and embarkation/disembarkation were smooth as silk. The
weather the first couple of days was rough, but the ship did just fine,
IMHO. We had just got off the Independence OTS, and I have to admit
that its evening dining was a bit better than the Solstice, but not by
enough to make a difference. The GGC2009 was a great success, we felt.

I had a great week on the Solstice and two fun weeks in Orlando before
the cruise.

Nice pictures and I wish we were still on the ship. We also have lots of
pictures, but I don't know when they will be ready to post.

Sounds like you and Kevin had a wonderful time, Sue. Can't wait to see
your pix!

Gosh, Ermalee, you won't know what to do, having to make your own bed
and dare step in the kitchen! It's great you had such a nice, long
vacation and got to spend a week with your crazy cruise friends!

George, I am wowed by Jeff's picture of the group. Y'all had a big
bunch! I hope you and Becca were able to have some fun in between all
the work. Looking forward to hearing your take on the Solstice.

I have to agree here. We had an early disembarkation and went to the
Solstice Theater 20 minutes earlier then required. As we walked into the
theater we heard our # being called and turned around to walk off the
ship. Only problem was the lack of porters.

The GGC2009 was a great success, we felt.

We have cruised with most of the group before, but this was our first
GGC sailing and it was a great success!!

Nonny your two little ones are so cute and well behaved, I really
enjoyed meeting them. Just wish we had had more time to get together
with you and your family.

This time around we spent lots of time sleeping/resting and the rest of
the time hanging out with a wonderful group of friends.

It will probably be awhile untill we get the pictures posted, we have a
bunch of medical stuff to deal with the next couple of weeks.

George and Becca did a great job with this cruise!! We sat with them for
dinner and all of our crazy tablemates made sure we all had a blast. We
would sit around gabbing long after we were done with coffee and
dessert, then move on to a show or Martini Bar or ?????.

We always have a good time on the group cruises but this one was very
relaxing for us. Some odds and ends and minor annoyances to deal with but
nothing major at all. This was a very good cruise... moreso because we had
some new people to the group like Jeff and Lola and others and meeting new
people is always fun.

For now, I'll just say that I was very impressed with the Solstice and with
the improvements Celebrity has made in food and service since my last
Celebrity cruise.

Once I get dug out from this pile of work on my desk, I'll write some sort
of review.
