Because I'm down in the Ft Lauderdale area and its FREEZING here right now.
Like 40 degrees or somehting this morning. Now I grew up in Brooklyn so I
realize that 40's might not seem so bad, but when you are cruising the
Caribbean you might tend to pack your light summer clothes, but let me tell you
people ITS COLD HERE! I cruised the Millennium for Thanksgiving and when we
were in Nassau we were in sweatshirts and sweaters. Its even colder now!

Wow! It is hard to imagine that kind of weather in Ft. Lauderdale.

Last January I got to FLL a day before the GGC2003 and when picking up my
rental car, they offered me a free upgrade to a convertible. Great.....
except that it was during one of the worst cold snaps of the season and that
night, the temperature was 39 degrees.

No wonder they were giving convertibles away! vbg

We brought our plants in last night. Cant go out. I dont have warm
enough clothes. I could bundle up in everything I own but I dont think
thats a good idea. All I retained after moving to Florida in the way of
warm clothes were a scarf and gloves

SUNNY.........watching the palm trees shivering

S'nd I

It was 32 degrees here on the north side of Houston this morning. I am
already tired of winter. We have had numerous threats of freezing nights and
each time we have to bring the tropicals into the house or garage depending
on how cold they predict. Some of these plants are in pots that have 30# of
wet dirt in them, so its no easy matter to move them. Having said
that............ I'd rather be here than up north where I am from (CT/NY/VA)
and where the weather has been much worse.

LOL Robert~does this sound familiar! We have been doing the same for the
past week or so. At least the afternoons warm up to the mid and sometimes
high 60's!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!
You should travel from the upper mid-west (MN), you have to carry your
parka with you on the cruise because you started in sub-zero temps in
the mornings, boarded the ship in a warmer climate, carried your parka
for a week, lugged it back to the airport at the end of the cruise, and
had to put it back on by the time you exited the aircraft at home!

But at least we have our warm clothes with us for a cold day in FLORIDA.

Two weeks ago when we went on Navigator, it was cold in Miami. We had
sweatshirts on when we arrived at the pier in the late morning. It
stayed cold until we got down near Cuba.
