Koa campgrounds Santa Cruz and LA
Hi there We are considering staying in a cabin on these campgrounds. While we are travelling with kids, we think this will be a good place for them, meeting with other kids. Anyone has experience with these camgrounds (good or bad)? Thanks and regards Wendy -- Posted via http://britishexpats.com |

We often stay in KOA campgrounds when hotels in an area are too
expensive for our budget. Although each campground is indepently owned and some are better than others, we have found them to be very nice. The cabins usually contain 1 full size(double) bed and a set of single bunk beds sleeping 4 people. Sometimes you can get a 2 room cabin will have 2 full size beds and bunks to sleep 6 people. YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN LINENS. There is also a bench and table inside. Outside there is a benc or swing on the porch, a grill, and sometimes a fire ring. You walk to the main bathhouse for toilets and showers, but, have cold running water and electricity at your cabin. We enjoy the pool, playground, camp store, and laundry that the majority of the KOA's have. |

There are some youth hostels in the area. The hostels are located in former
lighthouses. We have stayed there, and really enjoyed the view. Tom |

The hostels in L.A. and on the North coast all the way down to Santa Cruz and Monterey are awesome. Reserve early. Some of them are not that cheap anymore when you consider the price per person versus a motel. http://www.norcalhostels.org/ http://www.hostelweb.com/centralcalifornia/hostels.htm http://westernhostels.org/losangeles/index.htm http://sandiegohostels.org/ |
