Bagan Day 9. Bagan / Mt. Popa / Kalaw (car) Day 10. Kalaw (trekking) Day 11. Kalaw / Pindaya / Inle Lake (car) Day 12. Boat excursion on Inle Lake Day 13. Inle Lake ( Heho ) / Yangon (flight) Day 14. Yangon - departure Day 1. Yangon arrival. If arriving by morning or mid day flight, welcomed by our local tour guide and transfer to hotel. The afternoon tour of Yangon's city center featuring National Museum; Chaukhtatgyi, a colossal reclining Buddha; Karaweik Hall, a Royal Barge on the Royal Lake and Bogyoke (Scott) market with hundreds of stall for souvenirs. End up the day with World famous Shwedagon Pagoda, the most venerable of all places of worship in South East Asia. Witness the golden dome light up with sunshine as the sunsets. Overnight in Yangon. Day 2. Yangon / Mandalay (flight) Fly to Mandalay. Proceed to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayon Monastery where a thousand of monks who take their last meal of the day at 10 am in total silence; 200-year-old U Bein wooden bridge and silk weaving industry. Afternoon tour of Sagaing visiting Kaunghmudaw Pagoda, an enormous solid dome shape stupa and famous Sagaing Hill, a retreat for Buddhist devotees. Return to Mandalay for overnight. Day 3. Mandalay / Mingun / Inwa / Mandalay Depart Mandalay on a private boat along the Ayeyarwaddy River (1hr boat ride) to visit Mingun, a village on the west bank of the river. Tour highlights include huge but unfinished Pahtodawgyi Pagoda; Mingun bell, probably the largest uncracked ringing bell in the world which weighing 90 tons and Myatheintan Pagoda with seven concentric terraces at the base. Enjoy the on the river Ayeyarwaddy boat trip to Inwa (Ava), an ancient capital of Myanmar. Travel by pony cart around Ava to Nanmyint lean tower; Bagaya wooden monastery; Aungmyaybonzan Monastery made of brick and stucco and alms bowl workshop.Return to Mandalay by road. Overnight in Mandalay. Day 4. Mandalay Sightseeing tour of the city includes Mahanumi, live like Buddha image; Gold leaf making industry; Marble sculptures; Tapestry workshops and Zaycho market. Afternoon visit to Old palace grounds; Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's largest book for it's 729 marble slabs inscribed with the Buddha's doctrine ; Golden Palace Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carving and Atumashi Monastery (incomparable) Monastery; Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, a huge image curved out of a single block of marble. Enjoy the panoramic view of the city from Mandalay Hill. Overnight in Mandalay. Day 5. Mandalay / Monywa ( by car ) Drive to Monywa (3 hr drive) to the west of Mandalay. Arrive Monywa, board local ferry to cross the Chindwin River. Proceed by road to Shwe Ba Hill and Phowin Taung caves. Afternoon town tour of Monywa includes Thanboddhay Paya (with 500,000 of Buddha images); Boddhi Tahtaung (One thousand of Bo tree); Po Khaung Taung; Aung Sakkya Pagoda and view of 300 ft long Reclining Buddha. Overnight in Monywa. Day 6. Monywa / Myinmu / Bagan ( by river cruise ) Drive to Myinmu to catch the ferry to Bagan. Enjoy the river cruise to Bagan (takes about 8 hours) along the river Ayeyarwaddy, sampling some of the village life of the people on the riverbanks Arrive Bagan and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Bagan. Day 7. Bagan A comprehensive exploration of Bagan includes Nyaung U market; Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype stupa which shown the strength of Bagan; Kyansittha Umin; Wet-kyi-inn Gubyaukgyi Temple with exquisite mural painting of 13th century and Htilominlo Temple. After a visit to lacquer ware workshops; continue to Manuha Temple built by exile King Manuha; Nanphaya, said to have been the residence of King Manuha; Ananda Temple, architectural masterpiece and Oak-Kyaung monastery decorated with multi colour mural paintings. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset from Ywahaunggyi Temple. Overnight in Bagan. Day 8. Bagan Morning sightseeing starts with Lawkananda Pagoda on river side; East and West Phet Leik with clay plaque Jataka scenes; Thatbyinnyu Temple the tallest in Bagan; Shwegugyi Temple; Palace site and Tharaba Gate. Afternoon tour includes Apeyadana Temple with the paintings of Mahayana concept; Nagayon Temple; Archaeological Museum; Dhamayangyi Temple, a massive Temple with finest brickwork and Mingalar Zedi to watch sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River. Overnight at Bagan. Day 9. Bagan / Mt. Popa / Kalaw ( by car ) Morning depart by road for Kalaw (8hr drive), a mountain resort town in the Southern Shan State. Enroute visit Mt. Popa, an extinct volcano known as the abode of the legendary nats. Overnight at Kalaw. Day 10. Kalaw ( Trekking ) Take a half-a-day trekking trip outside of Kalaw for a small mountain village where one of the ethnic minority people known as Palaung live and practice the old traditional communal way of life. Retrace your step back to hotel. Overnight in Kalaw. Day 11. Kalaw / Pindaya / Inle Lake ( by car ) Drive to Pindaya (1½ hours drive), through picturesque scenery. Visit Pindaya caves and home base paper and umbrella making industry. Proceed to the famous Inle Lake (3hr), the residence of the Intha people and a kind of water world. Overnight at a floating hotel in the lake. Day 12. Inle Lake Full day excursion around the lake includes sights of unique leg rowers, fishermen using their typical own style of fishing, floating farms and gardens, handloom weaving cottage with its showroom, Phaungdawoo Pagoda which houses the most revered 5 Buddha Images in the southern Shan State and jumping cat Monastery,simply due to its trained jumping cats. Overnight in the lake. Day 13. Inle / Heho / Yangon ( by flight ) Boat excursion on Inle Lake. Transfer to airport and Fly back to Yangon. Transfer to hotel. Overnight in Yangon. Day 14.
