Kaikura - NZ - unofficial guide
Kaikura is around 2 hours drive from Christchurch (south island of
NZ). As far as I can gather it's a tourist/fishing place. It's on the shoreline. The place is famous for it's whale watching. Although I didnt participate I heard that it's one of the most famous places in the world to whale watch, apparently you can get quite close to the whales. I heard it costs around NZ$120 per person to whale watch. It doesnt have much of anything and it was quite desolate when I went there during the offseason (May). Plenty of green, a quiet place in general. I saw a sealion while I was there. |
