Default How Far is Canne from Monaco?

Hi..can anyone advise us on how far it is from where our
ship will dock , Canne, to the small country Monaco?
Can we take a train? Our ship wants to charge $120
round trip bus ride for two with no extras. I have
read that there are trains that run between the two.
Has anyone taken these trains and are they on
time, since we don't want to miss returning to the
ship. Thanks, Robbie

Trains run about every 1/2 hour, trip time about an hour, cost 15 Euro.
See:
http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/...UK&_AGENCY=VSC

and you can check the dates and time you want.

You can even make the reservations and pay online. You are supposed to be
in France, but give your home address with USA, France, and get on line
tickets to print out at home.

At Cannes, ships dock offshore, free boat ride send you to pier where
you can walk to train station through downtown and shopping district in
less than 30 minutes. Train to Monaco is very convenience,
comfortable, a scenic ride. Another 30 minutes walk from Monaco train
station to Casino, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape outside the
casino, panorama view of the harbor and city from there is a bonus, but
entrance to cansino is quite expensive. You need transportation if you
wish to visit the palace. Your train ticket allow free stop over at
Nice, a 45 minutes walk to beach through downtown.

Cruiseship charges $120 for bus ride of two is a lot, problem is they
do not let you see more than you go on your own, but I think peace of
mind worth 50% of the value. If walking and adventure is not a problem
to you, exploring Cannes and neighborhood cities on your own is not too
risky as even if you miss the ship, you can always catch up by rail to
the next port either in Spain or Italy which is not too expensive.

An unexpected bonus to taking the train: the Monte Carlo train station
is air-conditioned -- on some days a real relief!
