Hi

Further to the above, I have on at least 2 occasions filled the car up
no more than a couple of miles from an airport and been charged an
extortionate amount for the few millilitres of gas they managed to
squeeze into the tank.

I've never had that happen. What company did that?

Hi

Hertz (SLC - some years ago) & Dollar (LAX - 2002).

In both cases the amount deducted from my credit card was so small
that it really wasn't worth chasing up from here in the UK - I seem to
remember it being only a couple of dollars; in "Dollars" case, a
measly 85 cents springs to mind. This isn't much I know, but
calculated out per gallon would make a very expensive gallon of gas -
in any case the administration costs of sending me a receipt itemising
the deduction probably cost more than they deducted.

Regards

I agree that it's not worth fighting but that is the kind of nickel
and dime stuff that makes me reluctant to patronize the company again.
I'm not even sure that automatic shutoff would even be an absolutely
reproducible point.
