thanks george, Edwardseco and rupert

between u i have the goods now

rupert ur trip would have been incredible. i hope to do the south as well
entering near sapa. the one thing i look forward to is checking out the
rivers not only in china, but the mekong, and the ganges.

the situation in myanmar is interesting Edward. certainly good for the local
airlines anyway. the cost of the flight is truly an inconvenience to my
budget and have thought of not even going. i am still undecided. the images
of pagan i have seen certainly put a strong case to go.

george your info was of interest for an old motorcyclist, recovering after
being wiped out on my 6mth old 954 fireblade back in june '04. asia would be
an incredible place to check out by bike - maybe next time with the boys.
maybe a horse if i find one for me this time.

thanks again

david

Wait! Last minute news on the Myanmar land crossing just came up on thorntree
South Asia (LonelyPlanet.com). It isn't easy but with some planning you can now
apply for permission to land cross Myanmar.
