Default Car Rental Advice Barcelona to Aix-en-Provemce

We are planning a 5 day car rental with pick-up in Barcelona and a drop off
in Aix-en-Provence for mid-September. Can anyone recommend a good car
rental company? We will be staying in Barcelona for a few days first, then
we'll pick up the car. Should we pick up at BCN, or at the rail station?
We have not yet chosen a Barcelona hotel yet, nothing fancy but well located
with our own bathroom, so help there is also welcome. Thank you.

Since dropping a car in a different country tends to be fairly expensive,
you might do better taking the train from Barcelona to Perpignan across the
border in France and picking your car up there. We did this in reverse a
couple of years ago, dropping our car in Perpignan and continuing to
Barcelona by train, and saved money even with having to buy train tickets.
At that time, I think the drop charge was going to be around $200.
We've always had the best rental rates and service with AutoEurope -
www.autoeurope.com.

Thank you sooooo much. The car rental was only $350 but with the one-way
charge it came to $1523 so we took your advice and are training from
Barcelona to Perpignan. Train tix cost $98 for two people and the car
rental comes to $410. That's $508, total. Your suggestion saved us $1015.
Thanks again, GG.
