I don't have enough information to agree or disagree with your first premise
(of being found guilty anywhere).

As for the second, though.........guilty by association went out with habeas
corpus. Just because you come from a family of n'er do wells doesn't mean
you are one.

Schapelle Corby would have been found guilty in any court anywhere.

Purely as a matter of interest, her brother is currently in an Australian
jail (assault and multiple break & enters), and her father is a convicted
drug offender.

She will, however be given a fully funded appeal with 2 Senior Counsel -
paid for by taxpayers!!

DO NOT TRAVEL TO INDONESIA!

STOP ALL AID TO THIS REGION NOW.

DO YOU WANT YOUR LIFE RUINED?

Schapelle Corby from Australia has just been given 20 years in prison
and she is innocent. Search for Schapelle Corby on Google to see what
I mean.

Even WITH the presumption of innocence, at some point in the trial the
burden of proof shifts to the defence.

No it doesn't. The burden of proof never shifts. The STRATEGIC burden
USUALLY shifts (sometimes several times). The legal burden DOES NOT . The
evidentiary burden CAN.

Even WITH the presumption of innocence, at some point in the trial the
burden of proof shifts to the defence. Caught with the goods would seem to
be pretty convincing proof that would require defence.

Besides, who brings a boogie board on an international holiday? You can
rent one for almost nothing when you get there!

....and is it true or not, that her Balinese brother-in-law actually makes a
living by renting out surfboards?

her half brother (disowned by the family) is in jail... her father was
'busted' with 2 grams of hash 30 years ago... hardly a major offence
then or now.

She will, however be given a fully funded appeal with 2 Senior Counsel -
paid for by taxpayers!!

which she would have got before if her legal team wasn't half soaked.

It would be unfortunate if people boycotting Bali would for example
monitor fellow australians who do decide to go to Bali, and flood
their homes or destroy their property in other ways. A few publicized
cases would be more persuasive than the mere call for a boycott.
Let's hope we don't see criminal activities like that.

Top marks for imagination.

I'm sure it's furthest from what you hope will happen.
