Default Random tourist stabbed to death in Jerusalem

"An Arab youth approached a group of three or four tourists from behind
and stabbed one man before fleeing," a police spokesman said. "He died
of his wounds."

The report also says:
The spokesman declined to disclose the man's nationality, saying only
that he was a European and that police believed he was likely the
victim of a "terrorist attack".

What I want to know is:
1. How did the spokesman know the assailant was Arab?
2. How did the spokesman know the assailant's motive?

Are you sure that it was a different event?

Checking Google-News now it seems that it was the same event.

I read about the Italian aid worker on Friday and should have checked
the date/time on the posted Reuters' article.

The Reuters' article seemed to be the first out before all the info was
known like ID'ing the young man as a tourist rather than a named Italian
aid worker.

Yes a sad event and thankful it wasn't two seperate random attacks
targeting Europeans. Regards, Walter
