Only about 2 ~ 300 metres to the Stuart highway, and then it only seems to continue for another 300 metres or so over the other side of the highway. May be a nice leg stretch after the flight (:-)) http://www.whereis.com/whereis/confi...do?ref=homeMap |

Darwin Airport is way over the other side of the field. You'll just need to get past airport security at the terminal, cross the tarmac, the taxiway, the runway and onto the RAAF side of the airfield, outrun the RAAF guard-dogs, scale a couple of security fences, and you'll be at the Stuart Hwy. The only transport you'll get at the airport is a taxi or a hire car (limo). Can be a bit of a wait if you're not one of the first out of the terminal. Some of the hotels might run courtesy buses, probably by prior arrangement. You'll find the bus timetables and maps at http://www.ipe.nt.gov.au/whatwedo/bu...bus/index.html Route 5 goes near the airport and around to the stuart hwy, and past bombing rd intersection. I don't think any airports have lockers any more. |

Last time I had anything to do with flying into or out of Darwin was around 1971, and the main entrance was off the Stuart hwy... Golly gosh don't things change over the years (:-)) |
