I'll be visiting Hong Kong for a couple of weeks and was wondering if
anyone could recommend places worth checking out that a University Student would appreciate (aged 20-25). This could include bars, clubs, particular hostels, districts... Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated! SRB |

Wanchai is less crowded than Lankwaifong and has some interesting bars
like The Old China Hand; I'd generally prefer it to LWF Rupert I'll be visiting Hong Kong for a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend places worth checking out that a University Student would appreciate (aged 20-25). For a cheaper LKF experience try Club 64 on Wing Wah Lane. Soho (South of Hollywood Road) on HK Island and Knutsford Terrace on Kowloon are also burgeoning entertainment districts. There's a strip of cheaper bars and restaurants in Yung Shue Wan, Lamma Island, but the last ferry back to Hong Kong leaves (usually) at 11.30. George W. Russell Hanoi |

The Bridge across Lockhart Road from the new OCH is nicer ... and, god forbid, it's open 24 hours. The Bell Inn, a traditional pub run since the 1960s by two constantly feuding brothers, is even better and cheaper. It's on Lockhart, near, I think, the Luard Road corner. Try the steak sandwiches but remember to say "NO SALT!" George W. Russell Hanoi |
