Since I've never been to Miami, I'll withhold judgment. However, I've
always thought it was rather crime ridden.

Huge misconception based on the movies from the 80's (Scarface and Miami
Vice). 20 years later as you see it doesn't make the top 25 most dangerous
cities and it's actually quite safe except for a couple of parts just like
every city.

5 Best (the least American cities):

NYC
San Francisco
Boston

5 Worst (typical American cities):

Houston
Dallas
Pittsburgh
Detroit
Cleveland

I don't disagree with your categorization, but what makes Cleveland
more of a "typical American city" than Boston? And San Diego???
Outside of its location, what makes it "least American?" Put it in
Missouri and would be Kansas City.

Sounds like typical anti-American crap by people that don't know it.

Miami would be nicer if the weather was a bit cooler.

WHAT?!?!??! Are you crazy? Miami is awsome especially cause it's never
cold! 72 is the low in the winter.

Yes and 90 with 90% humidity and daily downpours in the summer.

Let me answer you with a question: are Miami and NYC your typical american
cities?

The thing is, you have to be *prepared* to enjoy the American culture
for what it is to enjoy American cities.

It's good that you say that, because American culture is very much
appreciated and enjoyed around the world if you *really* think about it.

No, but that is like asking if London and Paris are typical European
citites. What makes London great isn't that it isn't a "typical
British city," just that it is a nice place to visit. Unless your
entire argument is that more unique cities are more interesting to
visit, which is a pretty obvious statement.

The summer showers last no more than 30 mins in the late afternoon
tipically. I personally love the sun and the warm weather and so do
Europeans since they actually have a life (vacations) besides working.

I'm not American (but live in America) and you couldn't pay me to live
in Miami, most Americans feel the same way and that's why there are
few of them actually live there.

San Diego is great, wonderful climate, love NYC if it wasn't for their
nasty winters. San Francisco is one of my favourite places (specially
to eat) Boston is a cesspit.

My vote would go for San Diego as the best and then any of the
Carolina coastal towns where you get all the seasons but nothing too
severe as far as weather.

He could always try Tampa it's a bit cooler in the summer and warmer in
the winter than Miami/

I like italians and have spent much time in italy. Their women look
so fantastic when young, but I also noticed all those old hags in black
dresses. How did that happen?!!?
Their italian food doesn't taste as good as the american version of
each type. Too much olive oil puddled on everything.

Bottom line: being liked by the french is an insult and hated by them a
compliment.
