I think the limit is 1 year without returning........I would check
with travel agent

The Canadian Immigration web site http://www.cic.gc.ca does not seem
to give a plain answer to this question. They say that in most cases
a temporary resident visa is good for 6 months unless you get it
extended, but they also say that the Americans don't need a visa for
that sort of visit. Best thing would be to contact a Canadian embassy
or consulate and ask them.

the understanding is 3 months in any state or province and you are a
visitor up to six months you are a guest and after that you are a resident.

hope this helps

just remember your vehicle's plates must be renewed at home I have seen
people race home just to do that and do not close your home or your
insurance company can say you are not a resident and end your coverage
without you knowing
