news flash....volendam returns with sick passengers
Just reported that the volendam returned to port in Florida with 112 sick
passengers and 1 dead passenger. Sounds like they had one hell of a good time. Some gastro-intestinal outbreak hit the passengers and crew and up to 112 became sick. Some reported, that in addition to vomiting, it was also coming out the other end. Some were confined to their cabins for up to 5 days. WOW! What a way to spend a vacation. I noticed that dickie G and company have not been on this NG for the past week or so. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Wonder if Dickie, the foul mouthed daughter and Heidi, the wonder dog might have been on this cruise to hell. Originaly scheduled for the panama canel, but I wonder if they even made it. Time will tell. JP |

This virus really gets around. Strange..I've NEVER had it and I DON'T KNOW anyone, who has ever had it. I've been to vegas 34 times; kentucky 6 or 7 times and florida 3 times in the last 13 years and never even HEARD OF IT, until I started following RTC. Must be all those people, who chow down at the salad bars. JP |

There is a story here... http://www.nbc6.net/news/10902268/detail.html The sailing before this outbreak some of us RTCers were on the ship, the MGC2007. They had hand sanitizer stations all over the ship and as you entered the dining room they squirted some purell into your hands. There was no way you could go to dinner without getting squirted. I don't think there were any cases of the illness on our sailing, we were able to serve ourselves at the buffet and they had bread, butter, salt shakers etc on the tables. sue |
