when to book for travel over labor day

At this point, I would suggest you hurry up and book the $99 each way
tickets on the WN (Southwest) nonstops.

Most airlines guarantee that their own captive web site will always have their
lowest fare and they don't charge an extra fee on top of the ticket price. I use
sites like Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz to find which airlines are in the
ball park, then check those airline's own site to confirm and purchase. This
also avoids any potential third party issues with screwups as the airlines tend
to be a little more accomodating with their own tickets.

Any attempt to actually compare the various means of booking flights and
hotels that i have seen comes out that there is no process that is
consistently low.
