Hawaii Suggestions?
We're thinking about a week or two in Hawaii this summer. We're not "lie on
the beach" people, nor are we particularly interested in for-the-tourists staged activities. We're also not particularly sports-oriented -- we don't hike, etc. We do want to spend most of the time scuba diving [don't worry, we're both certified, and in my case by multiple organizations]and/or snorkling. I'd like to see an active volcano. I'd appreciate some basic direction, e.g. which island, etc., where we can experience these things. Thanks in advance. |

The only active valcano is on the Big Island, so that's where you should go. I don't know about scuba on the Big Island though. |

I'd like to see an active volcano. For what you have explained, the Big Island, which has the only currently active volcanoes in Hawaii, sounds like the best bet. The Big Island of Hawaii is almost twice as large as all the other islands combined and has the most geographic variety of all the islands. There are excellent places for scuba and snorkeling there. For more information about the Big Island of Hawaii and Kilauea volcano, you are invited to visit my Big Island of Hawaii webpage at: ~ http://keith.martin.home.att.net/page9B.html where you'll find no pop-ups, no advertising, no cookies and nothing for sale. Bon voyage!
