Paris to Andorra and Souther France questions
Can I take a train to Andorra (don't ask why) from Paris, rent a car
and then explore the Pyrannies? Which is an easier trip? West to Biarritz, Bilboa or east to Barcelona? Costs for the train and a car for four or five days? |

The train station for Andorra would be l'Hospitalet, France or La Tour de Carol/Latour de Carol/La Tor de Querol. http://www.hola-andorra.com/arinsal/...transporti.htm http://www.andorra.ad/fr/transports/index.asp http://www.andorrabus.com/horais_la_seu_tour.htm From Toulouse:http://www.autocarsnadal.com/lnregul...refix=Toulouse Regards, ULF |

The train station for Andorra would be l'Hospitalet, France or La Tour de Carol/Latour de Carol/La Tor de Querol. In february 1995 I went to Andorra by bus from LATOUR DE CAROL ENVEITG (note that without specifying ENVEITG or at least its initials the sncf.com timetables used to have some problems). There used to be around 6 runs (depending on the day of the week). Nice run, not exactly quick (including ~15 minutes stop at a ski resort), but the nice landscape is worth slowliness (and the non exactly minimized connection time), to me. Regards Flosta |

Oh yes, I forgot that one... Regards, ULF |

It does, AFAIK. (avid skier in Soldeu... wishing that the always promised rail link to La Seu d'Urgell and Andorra opens someday...). (no, as it stands now, the 4 hour trip from Barcelona to La Tour in the ruinous Spanish line is a tad too much). "Flosta" escribió en el mensaje ... "P.L.Guillemin" wrote in message ... Well, the new regional coalition of Catalonia now plans an AVE line from Barcelona to Puigcerdà, via Vic. Not a bad idea, but a different route may be more appropriate, like Martorell-Manresa-Sierra del Cadi... Best regards Phil |

AVE? Are you sure? The PSC manifesto does not carry it as a HSL; more like a good 160 km/h line. I mean, the cost of putting even a line like that in the Ribes valley would be simply insane :-O.
