[OT] Best and Worst American Cities according to Europeans

Europeans, particularly Italians and French, besides living in two of the most beautiful countries in the world, are known for their good taste when it comes to quality of life (food, clothes, cars, night life, weather, women, etc). According to a recent poll these are the impressions of Europeans about American cities. 5 Best (the least American cities): Miami Do Americans agree? I'll bet they didn't consider Honolulu which is much cooler in the summer, much warmer in the winter, less humid and surrounded by spectacular mountains while Miami & environs are flat as a pancake. Miami can fear hurricanes on a yearly basis, while Honolulu hasn't been hit by a hurricane in over 40 years. KM Honolulu has something I loathe anywhwe CONGESTED TRAAAAAFFFIC! Otherwise, it's just another big city that happens to be conveniently located to gorgeous, almost otherworldly places. To me at least. YMMV. HTH. HAND. Miami SUCKS
"Dave Christian" wrote in message ... In article , says... South Beach is crowded with clueless tourists & the streets are full of trash. Yes, and it also has the higher average rate price for hotels in the country. Higher than NYC. Sounds like a lot of people want to go there. That is 100% not true. Have you ever actually BEEN to and stayed in South Beach? Or NYC? If so, you KNOW that hotels (I'm talking about the nice, art deco, boutique hotels) cost FAR less than NYC. With this comment, I'm starting to think that you've never been to South Beach. Or New York City. Let's go on Travelocity to compare? Tell me what area of Manhattan you want to pick and we'll see. |

Seems pretty accurate to me.

Dave Christian wrote: My wife and I have travelled extensively, but we've never been to Europe. We were discussing this the other day and decided that we have no interest in going there. I'll go back to New Zealand, Australia, South America, ... but I doubt that I will ever set a foot in any country in Europe. No great loss. With sentiments like these, it's best that you don't go. Nah. I've been all over Europe. I'd rather go to Buffalo. -- http://www.ohiostatesucks.org http://www.notredamesucks.org |

Today the low in Miami is 72 and in Honolulu 70. less humid and surrounded by spectacular mountains while Miami & environs are flat as a pancake. Miami has better night life and by the way Hawaii is very overrated (again only by Americans as Europeans hardly care to go there). Caribbeans are better (if anything for the general latin atmosphere). Maldive, Polinesia, Mauritius, Seychelle, parts of the Thailand Islands are even better. But then again it all goes back to Americans knowing nothing about the outside world. Miami can fear hurricanes on a yearly basis, while Honolulu hasn't been hit by a hurricane in over 40 years. KM You forgot to mention that they certainly enjoy much more the hot sophisticated latin culture to the boring asian one. Racist. -- http://www.ohiostatesucks.org http://www.notredamesucks.org |
