I admit to a serious lack of knowledge on the you-know-what crap. Now
for a question. Are there any American cities that have closed any streets
or neighborhoods or modified any areas because of the obesity crisis?

None have been closed nearly as much as your mind which should be car-free
within the next 10 years. KM

No, but the automobile suspension business is going through the roof -
bigger shocks for bigger butts. That's a line of work you should consider.

No, but be on the lookout for sidewalk expansions so that more fat people
can walk side by side.

They are installing a Chinese buffet down the street. Does that
qualify?

Not a city, but Route 1 in Topsfield, MA (USA) during the Topsfield Fair
every October. The road gets so damn crowded, they close it down. Even
though it's not for fat people per se, it may as well be. the fair has the
same stupid acts every year, so that's not the reason to go. The largest
pumpkin contest is, well, boring, so that's not the reason. So it must be
the sausages, burgers, ice cream, and cotton candy, along with all the other
culinary delights that draws them in. And who eats that crap? Right. So,
indirectly, Rt 1 is closed for obesity.

No go have a cream puff and lighten up.

No. Although I imagine some streets are closed to automobile traffic
when they have marathons. :P

And it's rumored that freeways will be closed down when they start having
marathons for obese runners. There will be smorgasbords at the finish line.

No way they'll close a highway for that: these roads are not designed to
withstand such a weight.
