Default Spring break cruise cancelled

I'm going out to cruisematch in a few minutes and cancel our spring
break cruise on the Splendour of the Seas. Carol's oncologist thinks
it would be too much of a risk to be very far away from top notch
medical care, even if the schedule matched up with her chemo.

So we're out $300 (deposit). Next time I buy insurance. We are
talking about a cruise in late July/early August. Get a suite again,
just the two of us. Celebrate life a little.

Sorry to hear this, I know the two of you could really use the
relaxation. I would also be afraid of Carol picking up some bug, while
she is having her chemo. Maybe there is some kind of local trip you
could take, which wouldn't be too far from her doctors? I know it
wouldn't be the same as a cruise, but it would get you both away for
awhile.

It could be worse then $300! Make sure when you book a summer cruise,
you buy the insurance right away, so you have pre-existing coverage.

Hey, Dillon, enjoying your updates on Carol. Glad you have decisions and
forward momentum. Tough luck on missing the spring cruise & your 300 big
ones, but great to hear you already planning a replacement. You might
consider waiting 'til after Labor Day to avoid all of us pesky families with
children who'll be aboard in the summer. But I guess that's not an issue if
you were willing to face the spring break crowd. Whenever, it will be suite.

Diana

PS - I like your new closing signature way better than the old one!!! New
perspectives....

Dillon, I'm so sorry to hear about your cancelled cruise. We had to
cancel a cruise 3 weeks before sailing Celebrity Summit last February
when my husband very unexpectedly (age 45) had a stroke. He still
wanted to take the cruise (against Dr.'s orders) and there was no way.
The stroke lead to other complications and he was quite sick for some
time. Luckily we did have insurance, so we recovered all out
out-of-pocket expenses.

Thankfully he has made a remarkable recovery, and we will be boarding
the Celebrity Infinity next weekend. We are so looking forward to this
cruise...it is our celebration cruise.

You are going to find going after your wife is better will be so much
more relaxing, worry-free, and a great cause for celebration.

Please give your wife our best wishes for a complete recovery.

Jo-Ann
