Hi Jean very good review .We are going to try MSC when they come to NYC
for year round cruises . I tell people all the time when going on Costa
go with an open mind and you'll have a good time .We like trying new &
diffenent cruise lines ,for the different experiences they offer .
Ken G...............

Great, Ken..that's the way to approach all new experiences!..You can dislike
some aspects but still enjoy the cruise and its differences..Like you, to
me, difference is the spice of life...I like to get away from the sameo,
sameo, every so often!
Glad that you enjoyed the review...Forgot to mention that the MSC Lirica was
anchored at Cayo Levantado with us...We all tendered there to that beautiful
island beach..We had to wear orange bracelets while the Lirica passengers
wore blue ones to make sure we got tendered back to the right ship!

Thanks, Annie..but I'm far from a pro! But that is very sweet of you to say!
I am pleased that you enjoyed reading it...
Have not gotten to all of the personal mail in my mailbox, but thank you so
much for the lovely card..Will get to answering the 900+ e-mails waiting for
me when I got back, as soon as I can ! ;-)

How about you? How was your last cruise? Did you write a review?

Too bad, you would have had a chance to meet the mysterious daughter who is
on Lirica this year.

Oh, Darn....I completely forgot about that! Wish we had known and make
contact while there!..We probably walked past her and did not even know it!

Hey, Hey! Good for you Jean... a review this soon after getting home from
the MOAGC!

Thanks, Marsha!
I made a few typos which I have corrected below (too late)..As long as the
word is spelled right, it goes through whether in the right or wrong
context! ;-)

Yikes, now I have to start on the MOAGC one!

Keep writing Jean... I want to know what you thought of Infinity.

Before I go on with my review, we went on the MSC Opera anticipating it to
be an entirely different experience and came away experiencing just that.
You have to go on with an open mind to really enjoy yourself and that we
did.

Thanks for the review Jean. Whenever anyone says you have to go with an
open mind or something to that effect that sets off warning bells to
me. After reading all the reviews posted so far of this cruise I get
the impression that people are falling all over themselves to
understate the negatives. It sounds like it is pretty much a budget
cruise line that I probably would not care for.

I shall, Tom...as soon as I get my thoughts together. With the two cruises
back to back, it takes time to sort out what happened on which ship...but
with the help of all my photos and ship's letters, I'll sort things out!

You didn't get that we liked the decor? that we felt that they handled
embarkation and debarkation extremely well? that they handled large groups
well? that the cabins were comfortable and well appointed? with good
storage? and lighting? that fresh fruit is in all of the cabins?

Those are just a few of the things that we've remarked on... I'm not sure
what else you wanted to know that was or wasn't there.

I would hope that those who don't have "open minds" would stay away.
You're
right, they won't like MSC, and if they were to cruise with the line,
they
would complain, and they just might make (more) things change for the
worse.

I didn't say people should not have open minds. What I am saying is
that when people begin a review or report with those words it is a bad
sign. That generaly means there was a lot of stuff wrong. I take it as
a warning.

Those of us who enjoyed embraced the differences, and enjoyed traveling
with
them because of, not in spite of them.

The differences that I can glean from the reports is that it in general
is that they do a great job cleaning the ship, have a very good
entertainement and the rest is below average.

One more thing... it seems to me that all of us said that we'd cruise with
them again... do you think we'd say that if it was so "below average"?

I read Jean's review and my impression was that she loved the group. I
did not perceive that she is going to run out and book MSC again
anytime soon. Her review of the ship after the open mind opening
remarks pretty much said what the other reviews did not say. It said
something! I was not impressed by that "something".
