Default inexpensive london accomodations

Hello,

I have a friend travelling from Tel Aviv to Vancouver via London and
she's got a 20 hour overnight layover. Can anyone suggest somewhere
"cheap and cheerful" that she can stay? Basically just a place where
she can lay her head. It doesn't have to be out at Heathrow - She can
easily jump on the tube.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers,
Geoff Glave

There's a Comfort Inn 2 miles away for about £45 per night

Earls Court has hostel beds for £10 - £15, and the tube will be around
£2.30, 30 minutes each way. It's a bit of a grotty area, but there are
numerous hostels there.

FSVO grotty! Some of the streets with the budget hotels at Earls Court
are rather exclusive, actually, and the real estate is extremely
expensive. I'm hard pressed to call it grotty, by any meaningful UK
comparison.

It's badly polluted from the number of heavily congested roads surrounding
it, the station area is very seedy, and there are numerous cretins on the
main streets that may try to sell you drugs. The footpaths often have lots
of rubbish bags stacked up ready for collection.

Grotty by my standards, but then, so is much of England!
