Default Traveling with vitamins

I am traveling from the US to the UK. Rather than taking many large bottles
of vitamins and supplements, I would like to divide them up into daily
boxes. Will this pose any problems with customs?

Thanks in advance.

Possibly not, though in their original containers would be better.

How long are you going for - it seems a pettifogging little task to wrap up
or box each day's vitamin dosage. They'll surely think you're a little weird
if they discover all the little packages. (The mental image is
hilarious!!).

I would be suspicious, leave them in original packaging or better
still, buy here.

Are they fairly standard vitamins or rather unusual ones?

If you are coming to the UK then just leave them at home. When you get here
walk into any branch of Boots (they are *everywhere*) and there will be a
full range of vitamins on sale.

Vitamins in the US are much cheaper than in the UK and a much greater range
is available. I've travelled with vitamins divided up in special containers
and never had a problem.

I agree that it seems a bit odd -- but customs hasn't opened a suitcase
of mine in 20 years -- have never seen any interest in pills etc
exhibited -- on the other hand IF you were targeted as a potential drug
dealer or something then you would have pills to explain

I usually carry all my vitamins for the trip in one bottle i.e. the Cs
and Es together in say the C bottle --

I've taken vitamins with me to Australia, the UK and Europe. Keep the
vitamins in the original bottle in case there are questions (which happened
to me in Australia). I count out exactly how many vitamins I need and only
take that amount with me. Then I either ditch the bottle once I'm past
customs or right before I leave for home.
