The FTC might not like it if they did that.

Shipyard Fire Damages Holland America Vessel Under Construction

Hi Everyone,

I am hearing from sources the fire was contained to the aft section
and Fincantieri hopes they will still be able to make the April 15
delivery date. Fincantieri is saying the fire broke out in the aft
area of Deck 7 which is fitted with cabins and has affected Deck 8
(cabins) and Deck 9 (public spaces). No determination has been made
as to what caused the fire.

Best regards,
Ray

Is Carnival the owner of HAL? Or is HAL the owner of Carnival? Why is
Carnival speaking about a HAL ship in the article?

Fire on newbuild Westerdam (**updated**)
17/10/2003

Fire broke out early today aboard Holland America Line's Westerdam,
under construction at Fincantieri's Marghera yard. The blaze was
extinguished with no injuries, according to Carnival Corp.

In a photo, smoke billows from the aft end of the superstructure,
just behind the ship's funnels. Carnival said the blaze began on the
stern section of the 82,000gt vessel at approximately 7:30 a.m. local
time and was extinguished by 11 a.m.

The extent of the damage could not be immediately determined,
Carnival said. The 1,848-passenger newbuild, the third in HAL's Vista
series, is scheduled for April 15 delivery.

Why then Karen, is the Web Site named "Worlds Leading Cruise Line"? Just
asking.
This is also who (can't remember the whom/who rule) issues my "Past
Passenger" discount on each of the owned lines.

Carnival Corporation is the umbrella under which cruise lines such as
HAL, Costa, Carnival and many others now fall.

Hope that helps.

was shot?

I may just skip that maiden voyage.....
