Default From Italy to Croatia

I desperately need some good advice! We are planning to travel from
Bologna to Porec, where we have booked an apartment for 6 nights. The
Golfer is NOT a good sea traveller, but can be persuaded if the
weather forecast is calm and there are anti-seasick pills available!

We could travel from Rimini or from Venice. Rimini is preferable as
we will be in the Bologna vicinity rather than Venice.

We could also fly - if we knew how to access discount airline fares
from Bologna to either Pula or Rijeka (Porec has no airport!)

Does anyone have any advice please? I have thoroughly trawled airline
and ferry boat sites.

We will be staying not far from Bologna which is an easy journey on a
regional train for us.

I looked at the fares from Venice to Pula and return by ferry and they
seemed rather high to me! Perhaps I am rather ignorant of the latest
prices in this part of Europe - the fuel prices lately have escalated!

Can someone please give me some good advice and perhaps links to
effective sites for me to investigate.

Thank you all.

From Bologna to Trieste is a 3h train trip (fast train) and costs about
28 euro. The slow, dirty, train takes 4 hours and costs around 13 euro.

Trieste is 60 km far from Porec. There should be several ways to reach
Porec from there (i.e. by bus). Bus station in Trieste is just nearby
the train station.

ciao, U.
