Default Westjet vs AC at Tnew (Toronto)

Westjet, GTAA and Air Canada have been fighting over who gets gates at the new
terminal slated to open in a couple of weeks.

Air Canada claims it had negotiated a contract granting it 14 gates.
GTAA conveniently forgot this and gave Westjet 6 gates, telling Air Canada it
could use 8 for itself, and share the other 6 with Westjet.

In court, Air Canada got back its 14 gates, but this is being appealed by GTAA
and Westjet.

Westjet even claims that because of the added flights to YYZ, it may have to
use the current AC terminal (T2).

Something I don't quite understand he what is wrong with T3 ? Isn't there
sufficient domestic capacity there for Westjet ?

Is this purely a cockfight just to spite Air Canada at the new terminal ? How
come GTAA is so supportive of Westjet ?

It seems ironic that for a project that has been going on for an eternity,
that they would start haggling over gates a couple weeks before opening.
