Lomdon in August
In several countries in Europe (Italy and France, for example), August
is a poor month to visit because many people are on vacation and many places like restaurants are therefore closed. What about England (London in particular)? Is the same true there? -- Ken Blake Please Reply to the Newsgroup |

Mid July/August is when the schools have the 6 weeks holiday so people with children will holiday at this time. Many of the rest of us when possible try to holiday out side of this to avoid lots of other peoples children. Regards David |

Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach Time for tea. |

We don't have terribly hot heat either, so it isn't a problem. I wanted air conditioning on exactly one day last summer... I managed without it. -- William Black I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. I found inadequate ventilation and cooling in office buildings a far greater problem both in Italy and France. Italy can be hot in summer... that's part of the fun. I remember temperatures of 40C both outside and inside my car (and up to 60C when parked...), and up to 50C once in my tent. But I agree if you're wearing a suit and have to work in an office all day, then you might have a different opinion... -- Bartc |
