No, what would be offensive is if they served chicken soup!

After all, the guy was vegetarian! =D

EXCERPTS

Those objecting to the restaurant plan to ask the local government to
force a name change, said Daniel Zonshine, Israel's consul general in
Bombay.

"Instead of Hitler's name being an example of extreme evil, this is
like giving legitimacy to Hitler. It's not right to advertise his name
in public," Zonshine said.

....

"Hitler was a bad man, but what's wrong with having food here?" said
Ashwini Phadnis, 22, a microbiology student as she tucked away a piece
of chocolate cake.

Engineering student Anand Dhillon sat with friends, sipping soft
drinks. "I think the name is quite interesting. Tomorrow if someone
keeps a name like Saddam Mutton Shop or George Bush Footwear, there's
nothing wrong with that, is there?" he shrugged.

Whatever the 'morality' or 'tastefulness' of the idea, isn't it just nice
for once to see someone telling the 'outraged Jewish community' to,
effectively, '**** off'?

I'm sick and tired of hearing about 'enraged' Jews.

Indeed. Remember that Pokemon brouhaha a few years ago? Some Orthodox
kid opened a package of game cards and was traumatized to find a
Buddhist swastika on a character. The Japanese company promptly
obliged with a reprint resulting in separate US versions.

Seriously, I think Hitler was Jewish. He had all his hometown records
destroyed after the Anschluss. His paternal grandmother worked as a
live-in maid for years with a Jewish guy who had a teenage son. After
her pregnancy, the family paid child support for seven years. All
that's documented. Combined with his obsession with Jews and his great
speaking skills and theatrical flair and vegetarianism -- come on, this
guy's Jewish!!!! =)

That's because there are more jews in the United States than in Israel.
The biggest jewish city in the world is New York.

FWIW, the holocaust began in the US in the mid-19th century - Hitler
only perfected it and increased the volume of death and torture.

It began as a Democratic push to cleanse society in the US - get rid of
the undesirables such as the Jews, the blacks, the Asians, the mentally
retarded and the genetically inferior. It was a social and political
movement called "Eugenics." And some of the most respected minds and
today's heroes not only endorsed it, they lived it. They not only
committed and murdered these "undesirables" but they also castrated
them as well (so they could not reproduce). They did experiments as
well. In fact, there is a quote "the Germans are beating us at our own
game" comes from the Eugenics advocates seeing the larger scale
extermination that Hitler had achieved.

The Immigration Law of 1924 was largely passed due to Eugenics (not
economics). No one wanted the "inferior" coming in to the US and
contaminating the populace by reproducing with Americans. The last
"Eugenics law" was stricken from the law books as late as 1967,
restricting the "normal" and "mentally impaired" from marrying. It also
served to prohibit interracial marriages.

Since the main topic seems to be Hitler and his atrocities against the
Jews, I thought I'd mention it. We're no better than he was. By the
time Hitler was coming into power, we had more or less lost interest in
it. He took over from there on a larger scale.

In Sweden, the alcohol outlet "Systembolaget" was forced to remove any
notes of origin on Wine Bottles from the occupied Golan Hights due to a
few complaints from the fanatic fundamentalist Kosher lobby. (Though
it's regulated by law to show origin.)

One of the exhibition halls in the British Museum has swastikas, around the
whole room. Idiots swastika prfedates Hitler by at least 4,000 years!
