It's near Rembrantplein. The prices are good. I'm not wild about staying
in a best western, but it's probably clean and hassle free.

Anyone have any experience here?

thanks,

I stayed there for 5 nights last year. I thought it was ok, especially if
you
got a good rate. The bed was not very comfortable, but the location
was great.

We had booked "breakfast included" (they have a breakfast room off
the lobby), but when checking in, they told us that it was NOT included and
would be an additional charge (I think about 13 USD each) per day, so
we chose NOT to do that and instead went out each morning to nearby
bakeries to have coffee and pastries. Worked out well.

Ask for a quiet room, off of the street.
Have fun! There is a great flea market that is held across the canal from
the
hotel, over by Rembrand'ts house. Check it out, it's mostly locals.

It is my hotel of choice in Amsterdam. I like the bars of the Rembrandtplein
area, and it is walkable from anywhere else I would want to go in Amsterdam.

In general, Best Westerns in Europe are small, non-chain hotels with lots of
local
color. (Just what I like!) They're usually quite nice.

The Eden Hotel is one of the biggest 3 star hotels of Amsterdam
situated on the Amstel river just of Rembrandtsplein. It is a well
kept hotel and cerrtainly a good place for your stay in Amsterdam.

I stayed there approximately six years ago and enjoyed it very much. I
had a view of
the street, (a bit loud), but worth it, and the breakfast was excellent.
The rooms are small but it was a friendly hotel. My son stayed at the
Hotel American last year, and found it not more expensive than the
Eden,. He thought it was very upscale.... . I stay in many Best
Westerns in Europe ...they are run independently . I have never been
dissatisfied. Enjoy . Ruth
